Ellisville, MS Equal Opportunity Employer Vet/Disabled Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Coil Winder specializing in large-scale power transformers. In this role, you will be responsible for the using specialized winding techniques, including Disc, Helical, and CTC (Continuously Transposed Conductor) winding. This position requires a mastery of tension control and the ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints to ensure optimal electrical performance and mechanical strength. Responsibilities
    High-Voltage Coil Winding:
    Set up and operate heavy-duty winding machines to produce coils for transformers rated at 161 kV, 230 kV, and 345 kV.
      Winding Techniques:
      Execute complex winding patterns including: o
      Disc Winding:
      Stacking multiple conductor discs in series with precise crossover points. o Helical (Spiral)
      Winding:
      Managing high-current, low-voltage applications using multiple parallel conductors in a spiral configuration. o
      CTC Winding:
      Handling Continuously Transposed Conductors to minimize eddy current losses and ensure uniform current distribution.
        Blueprint Interpretation:
        Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and winding specifications to determine turns, dimensions, and insulation requirements.
          Insulation & Assembly:
          Apply critical insulation materials (kraft paper, epoxy resin, press-board spacers) and create axial/radial oil ducts to facilitate efficient cooling.
            Quality Control:
            Monitor turn counts, DC resistance, and layer appearance during the winding process; conduct final inspections to meet strict industry standards.
              Maintenance & Safety:
              Perform routine machine maintenance and adhere to safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and the use of specialized PPE for high-voltage environments. Skills/Qualifications
                Experience:
                5+ years of experience in high-voltage power transformer coil winding
                  Technical Proficiency:
                  Expert knowledge of vertical, disc, helical, and CTC winding methods for core-type transformers.
                    Precision Tools:
                    Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and measuring tapes to verify tolerances within fractions of an inch.
                      Physical Stamina:
                      Capability to stand for long periods and lift materials up to 25-100 kg as required by the manufacturing environment.
                        Education:
                        High School diploma or equivalent; vocational training in electrical technology is preferred. Preferred Skills
                        • Experience with CNC-controlled automated winding machines.
                        • Knowledge of interleaved or shielded disc construction for enhanced surge behavior.
