Job Description
The Sign Shop Production Assistant supports the production of high-quality signage by assisting with fabrication, finishing, assembly, and shop operations. This position works closely with the production team to ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Primary Responsibilities Assist with fabrication and assembly of signs. Prepare materials for production, including cutting, trimming, laminating, and mounting. Weed and apply vinyl graphics. Operate shop equipment after appropriate training. Package completed signs for delivery or installation. Assist with loading and unloading materials. Perform quality checks before products leave the shop. Maintain shop cleanliness and organization. Assist with inventory and material stocking. Support installation crews as needed. Qualifications Strong attention to detail. Ability to read work orders and follow written instructions. Good hand-eye coordination and basic mechanical aptitude. Willingness to learn new equipment and processes. Positive attitude and ability to work well on a team. Ability to lift and move materials (up to approximately 50 lbs.). Preferred Experience Previous experience in a sign shop, print shop, or production environment. Familiarity with vinyl application, laminating, or large-format printing. Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator is a plus but not required. Physical Requirements Stand for extended periods. Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting. Ability to safely operate hand and power tools after training. Comfortable working on ladders when required for installations.
