Position Summary The Production Assistant will support production engineering functions across our Bozeman operations to enhance production capabilities, improve performance, and reduce costs. Using industrial and management systems engineering methods, this role supports the implementation of new systems, processes, methods, and equipment to improve operational efficiency. The Production Assistant contributes to solving production challenges by supporting plan development, communicating progress, and helping implement systems that prevent reoccurrence. This role partners closely with factory personnel to develop standard work methods, work instructions, training aids, and ergonomic improvements to enhance the production employee experience. This position reports to the VP of Operations and is based out of our Bozeman, MT office. Key Responsibilities Conduct time studies to establish standard minutes across production operations Partner with Production to develop standard methods, work instructions, and training aids to optimize workflow and ergonomics Collect data and report on operational efficiency, quality, cost, and throughput for internal stakeholders Assist with root cause analysis and risk assessments, including FMEA, as needed Perform other duties in support of manufacturing operations as assigned You Bring Current Sophomore or Junior standing in Industrial and Management Systems Engineering or a related engineering program Previous part-time or summer work experience preferred Knowledge or Experience Entering, structuring, and analyzing data in Microsoft Excel Creating clear, visual SOPs in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or similar tools Developing process flow diagrams using Microsoft Visio or equivalent software Applying root cause analysis tools such as 5 Whys and Fishbone (Ishikawa) Supporting workstation optimization and setup reduction activities Timing, recording, and analyzing cycle times Personal Characteristics Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams Strong problem-solving skills Ability to manage priorities and adhere to timelines
Pay Range:
Starting Hourly Rate:
$20.00 The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
