DOE Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable Beam Tier to join our textile manufacturing team. This position is responsible for tying yarn ends from one warp beam to another to prepare looms for production, ensuring proper alignment, tension, and quality. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Tie warp yarns from new beams to existing beams to prepare looms for continuous production. Inspect yarn for breaks, defects, tangles, and inconsistencies before tying. Ensure all yarn ends are tied accurately to minimize downtime and production waste. Load, position, and secure warp beams using material handling equipment or overhead hoists as required. Verify beam numbers, styles, and production orders prior to setup. Maintain proper yarn tension and alignment throughout the tying process. Assist with loom changeovers and machine setup to support production schedules. Monitor equipment and report mechanical issues or damaged materials to maintenance or supervision. Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation. Follow quality standards to ensure proper beam preparation and minimize defects. Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards. Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in textile manufacturing, weaving, warping, or beam tying is preferred but not required. Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to identify yarn defects and maintain attention to detail. Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn textile machinery. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, and reach throughout the shift. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Willingness to work overtime and various shifts as needed. #LIND26
