Job Description
At ESC, we owe our success to the efficiency of organizational processes. To help maintain and grow this standard, we're seeking a Factory Production Engineering Assistant to carry out daily related activities for the factory with a focus on the steel and aluminum shoring products (shoring division). The ideal candidate will be diligent, have a quality mindset with proven success in the manufacturing environment. They'll be supporting manufacturing operations through process optimization, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring safety/quality compliance. The position requires someone that thrives in a quick manufacturing environment. Objectives of this Role
Process Improvement:
Analyzing current production methods to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and implement automation (e.g., robotics, conveyors).- Engage in creative problem-solving to address operational issues, safety issues, workflow improvements, delays in production, and process bottlenecks.
- Work within the manufacturing platform software system (Factory App) to make sure production has the required materials for orders and inventory orders are placed in time to ensure no production delays.
- Work closely with the Cost Accountant on maintaining inventory records
Technical Support:
Assisting in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and validation of production equipment and tooling.Documentation:
Developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), process control plans, and safety documentation.Quality Control:
Supporting quality initiatives, performing root cause analysis on defective products, and conducting audits to meet ISO-14001 orTS-16949
standards.Project Support:
Assisting in the installation and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment and capital projects Responsibilities- Follow safety rules and facility policies and procedures
- Accomplishes department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
- Explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Other duties as assigned Required skills and qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing) or equivalent experience.Experience:
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, 1-3 years preferredSkills:
Proficiency in SolidWorks/CAD software, data analysis, troubleshooting, and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles- Strong communication skills and documentation management
- Valid unhindered drivers license
- Some knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management Systems would be a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong listening and presentation skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- OSHA Certification a plus.
