Position:
Skilled Production Shift:

1st (6:30 AM - 3:00 PM) Job Overview The primary role of Skilled Production is to be the quality gate with a focus on safety, quality, reliability, and productivity. What We Do Prepare vinyl & metal materials by operating machinery (press, punch, drill, saw, welder, CNC, or laminate machine)

Laminate vinyl lineal for use in the production of windows & doors.

Supply VPI East with stock for production.

Check the quality of products and materials. Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities Actively support and participate in the company's safety and health program.

Become an expert in this position to train as needed to support production needs daily.

Understand the products we use and how to locate and stage in a way to maximize productivity.

Be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Process driven with a focus on continuous improvement.

Assists co-workers in analyzing and correcting problems encountered in job assignments to perform work according to standard operating procedures.

Direct how work is completed within their work cell/assigned area and "flex" to different positions to support production output in a professional manner.

Depending on assigned area, may be expected to quality check, finish products in full, and assist in loading trucks.

Using powered equipment (forklift, electric pallet jacks) to load and unload trucks. Must be willing to do housekeeping including cleaning restrooms. Working Conditions Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs throughout the shift.

Standing/walking up to 12 hours per day.

Ability to lift 25-50 pounds regularly, occasionally team lift up to 75 pounds

Depending on area, it may be expected to occasionally team move/slide 100+ pounds. Must be able to work overtime as required.

Must be able to work in heat and cold.

You must wear appropriate PPE and maintain a safe working environment. Work cautiously and carefully around people, machinery, and equipment.

Must be able to read a tape measure to within 1/32 of an inch.

Understand quality standards and perform quality work including raw material, WIP, and finished goods inspection.

Communicate with Managers and production line with order needs and requirements.

Be able to read and understand all paperwork and labels associated with production schedules.

Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly fashion.

Must meet production rates.

Must perform any other tasks assigned by Manager. Preferred Skills and Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent.

2 - 3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in/with vinyl products industry.

Thorough knowledge of our window system procedures and understanding of our culture.

Compute basic math problems involving fractions, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and metric and standard measurements.

Strong verbal and written communications skills.

Proven problem solving and organization skills.

Works well in a team environment with a diverse workforce.

Basic Conflict Resolution skills.

Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism. About
