This position is responsible for setting up and preparing Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production lines to ensure efficient, high-quality manufacturing. The ideal candidate has experience in electronics manufacturing, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in producing quality work. Key Responsibilities Set up SMT production lines, including feeders, reels, stencils, tooling, and machine programs. Perform production line changeovers to meet manufacturing schedules. Verify component part numbers, feeder locations, and setup accuracy prior to production. Load and replenish components while maintaining material traceability. Conduct first-piece setup verification and support production startups. Troubleshoot setup and feeder issues to minimize downtime. Read and interpret bills of materials (BOMs), assembly drawings, work instructions, and setup documentation. Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and material control teams to ensure smooth production flow. Maintain accurate production and setup documentation. Follow all ESD, quality, and safety procedures. Assist with preventative maintenance and routine cleaning of SMT equipment. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and productivity. Maintain an organized and clean work area using 5S principles. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 1-3 years of SMT setup experience in an electronics manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with SMT placement equipment, feeders, and production changeovers. Ability to read and understand work instructions, assembly drawings, and BOMs. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. Basic computer skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
