Job Description
1st Shift Production Operator 6:00am - 2:00pm Starting pay $20.84 per hour
SUMMARY:
The Production Operator oversees the operation of fabricating machinery, including molding presses, die cutoff presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and various metalworking apparatus. Their responsibilities encompass molding, cutting, shaping, and bending metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures. The Production Operator may be required to work in several different work cells and job types as needed under direction from the supervisor.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned.- Responsible for working on production line doing various tasks within the facility.
- Tasks include assembling, trimming, and inspecting parts.
- Ability to work at a fast pace.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must comply with Company Handbook, Policies, and Procedures.
- Must be flexible and agreeable to change work cell as production needs demands.
- Operate manual and automated equipment.
- Must analyze job instructions to accurately determine machine adjustments and material specifications.
- Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies.
- Pull damaged or ineffective equipment off the line.
- Mark parts for identification.
- Align stops or guides precisely according to specifications.
- Operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing.
- Meet or exceed production standards in a repetitive manufacturing environment.
- Conduct visual inspections of workpieces to identify any defects or potential machine malfunctions.
- Efficiently stack, mark, package, and transport completed workpieces.
- Conducts daily routine safety checks as part of first-line safety protocols.
- Perform equipment repairs and maintenance as required, ensuring cleanliness and optimal functionality.
- Conduct thorough equipment inspections to identify potential replacements, malfunctions, or necessary repairs.
- Assess equipment performance and suggest enhancements to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Offer comprehensive training to newly onboarded operators, guiding them in their assigned tasks and responsibilities.
- Must effectively collaborate and communicate with team members, contributing to the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and goals through teamwork.
- Operate under the supervision of the team leader to efficiently execute assigned tasks within specified deadlines.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company policies regarding equipment operation.
- Propose process enhancements aimed at improving operational efficiency and ensuring safety standards are met.
- Promptly identify and report any unsafe operations to the supervisor, assisting in documenting incidents as required.
- Ensure the work area remains clean, safe, and well-organized at all times.
- Other assigned duties.

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; or upon exception with management approval.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Proficiency in reading and interpreting various documents including safety regulations, operational manuals, and maintenance instructions. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. Proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending English communication, both orally and in written form.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to use Shopvue on the production floor.REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee will frequently engage in activities such as walking, sitting, using hands for manipulation, and reaching with arms.
