Contract type Full-Time Location Lakewood, NJ Specialty Fashion Salary $60-70K Remote No Reference 514426 Contact name Catherine Aranda Job description Production Assistant - Children's Apparel We are looking for a highly organized Production Assistant to support a growing children's apparel team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in apparel production or product development who enjoys managing details, tracking timelines, and coordinating with multiple partners throughout the production process. The Production Assistant will work closely with internal teams, factories, and vendors to help keep product development and bulk production moving forward. The right candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. What You'll Do Support daily production and product development activities across children's apparel collections.
Track samples, approvals, production milestones, and delivery schedules.
Communicate with factories and vendors regarding timelines, materials, samples, and production updates.
Maintain organized production files, specifications, purchase orders, and tracking documents.
Assist with reviewing samples for fit, measurements, construction, color, trims, fabric, and quality.
Coordinate sample routing and approvals between design, production, and external partners.
Help manage lab dips, fit samples, size sets, pre-production samples, and related approvals.
Identify potential delays or issues and communicate updates to the appropriate team members.
Support quality-control efforts and help ensure products align with approved standards.
Keep samples and production references organized and accessible. What We're Looking For Previous experience in apparel production, product development, merchandising, or a similar role.
Children's, baby, or layette apparel experience is strongly preferred.
Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
Ability to manage several priorities and deadlines at once.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfort working with overseas factories and vendors.
Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets.
Ability to understand garment specifications, tech packs, and production documentation.
Knowledge of fabrics, trims, garment construction, and manufacturing is a plus.
