Job Description

JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Manufacturing Associate Assembly 1 is an entry-level production position responsible for the assembly, preparation, and inspection of cable assemblies and related electronic manufacturing products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role performs routine production tasks following established work instructions, drawings, and quality standards while developing foundational manufacturing and assembly skills. The Manufacturing Associate Assembly 1 is expected to learn basic cable assembly processes, proper tool usage, manufacturing documentation, and quality requirements while supporting production schedules and company objectives. This position works under direct supervision and receives on-the-job training based on assigned manufacturing areas and products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Including but not limited to: Perform entry-level cable assembly and related manufacturing operations in accordance with established work instructions and quality standards. Assemble cables, harnesses, and related products using hand tools, fixtures, and assigned equipment. Follow manufacturing drawings, visual aids, work instructions, travelers, and other production documentation. Learn and apply basic blueprint and drawing interpretation skills. Perform basic measuring, counting, labeling, and inspection activities as required. Maintain accurate production reporting within company manufacturing software systems. Support production schedules and department production goals. Maintain organization and cleanliness of assigned work areas and equipment. Properly use assigned tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow all company policies, procedures, safety rules, and quality standards. Participate in required training and demonstrate the ability to learn and retain manufacturing processes and procedures. Communicate effectively with supervisors, team leads, trainers, and coworkers. Work cooperatively within a team-oriented manufacturing environment. Notify supervision of material shortages, equipment issues, quality concerns, or production delays. Perform other duties, departmental support tasks, or special projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to learn and retain manufacturing processes, procedures, and training. Ability to read, understand, and follow written manufacturing instructions and visual aids. Basic understanding of drawings and blueprints or willingness to learn blueprint reading skills. Ability to properly use basic hand tools and measuring equipment. Basic computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing software systems. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently on routine tasks with limited supervision. Ability to adapt to changing production priorities and assignments. Ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required. Previous manufacturing, assembly, production, or related experience preferred but not required. Up to one (1) year of manufacturing or related experience preferred. Basic reading, writing, and math skills required. Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is conducted primarily in a warehouse and production environment and involves frequent movement, including walking, standing, lifting, and handling materials. Work may require operating material-handling equipment and performing tasks in areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, and typical industrial conditions. HOURS:
Full-time position. Standard work schedule is a minimum of forty (40) hours per week. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business and production demands.
