About the company Florida Coin Graders, Inc., doing business as Independent Coin Graders, provides professional coin- grading and related product-handling services. Overview The Production Associate supports the preparation, labeling, assembly, and secure handling of customer coin products. This position is an important part of the production process and requires strong attention to detail, careful handling of valuable items, consistency, and the ability to follow established procedures. The Production Associate will work on-site at our Carle Place, New York location and will use company- provided equipment and materials to label and secure customer products in plastic holders. Operate forklifts and power tools safely to handle materials, components, and finished products throughout the manufacturing facility Interpret manufacturing documents, technical drawings, and work orders to accurately assemble products according to specifications Use measuring instruments to verify dimensions and quality standards during production processes Conduct manual handling tasks such as lifting, moving, and positioning heavy or bulky items in compliance with safety protocols Assist with mechanical assembly tasks utilizing hand tools and power tools to ensure precise construction of components Maintain a clean, organized workspace by following safety standards in production and adhering to lean manufacturing principles Support process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting solutions for continuous enhancement of manufacturing operations Qualifications Previous factory or manufacturing facility experience is highly preferred Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings and production documents accurately Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools Familiarity with forklift operation and safety standards in production environments Experience with assembly line processes, lean manufacturing practices, and managing production or assembly teams is a plus Strong manual handling skills including heavy lifting while maintaining safety protocol adherence Knowledge of safety standards in production settings, including proper use of measuring instruments and mechanical assembly techniques Essential Duties and Responsibilities Handle coins and customer products carefully to prevent damage, loss, or misidentification. Select and assemble components used to prepare coin holders and related products. Operate a hydraulic press or similar equipment to seal coin holders after receiving training. Operate label-printing software and equipment. Match serialized products with the correct labels and supporting documentation. Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and proper labeling. Monitor and report inventory needs for production materials and supplies. Prepare completed orders for secure shipment or transfer. Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work area. Follow all company safety, confidentiality, product-security, quality-control, and inventory- control procedures. Perform other related production duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience in assembly, production, packaging, quality control, inventory, or a detail- oriented work environment is preferred but not required. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established production procedures. Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with small items, serial numbers, labels, and records. Basic computer skills, including the ability to learn company software and label-printing systems. Ability to work efficiently, maintain productivity, and complete tasks with limited supervision. Ability to communicate effectively in English as necessary to understand safety procedures, production instructions, labeling requirements, and workplace communications. Spanish-language skills are a plus but are not required. Ability to safely perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to use hands and fingers for repetitive handling, assembling, labeling, and packaging tasks. Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to [insert expected weight, such as 25 pounds], with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to safely operate production equipment after training. Pay Rate The actual hourly rate offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs. This position is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal and New York law.
