About the Role The Bakery Production Assistant is a versatile and critical role in our bakery. This position serves as the primary support person for all production stations and is responsible for helping keep daily operations running smoothly and efficiently. The Bakery Production Assistant is fully cross-trained throughout the bakery and provides break coverage, production support, cleaning, ingredient preparation, and general assistance wherever needed. Because this role works across multiple stations, the ideal candidate is a strong communicator, adaptable, dependable, eager to learn, and comfortable moving between different tasks throughout the day. The Bakery Production Assistant reports directly to the Production Manager and plays a very important role in supporting production, food safety, sanitation, and overall team success. Responsibilities Production Support Provide break coverage for employees at all production stations. Assist with pressing, dividing, griddling, packaging, and other production activities as needed. Support daily production timelines and help maintain workflow throughout the bakery. Assist team members during busy production periods to prevent bottlenecks. Follow station-specific procedures and work instructions for all bakery stations. Preparation Prepare and scale ingredients. Organize for upcoming production. Feed and maintain sourdough starter according to established procedures and production levels. Cleaning & Sanitation Clean equipment including press machine, griddles, sinks, and workstations. Complete assigned sanitation tasks throughout the shift. Sweep floors, remove garbage, and maintain general bakery cleanliness. Clean restroom and common areas as assigned. Complete end-of-day cleaning procedures according to company standards. Food Safety & Quality Follow all food safety, SQF, GMP, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements. Maintain clean and organized work areas at all times. Report any food safety, quality, equipment, or maintenance concerns immediately. Support accurate record keeping and production documentation when required. Team Support Communicate effectively with team members and Production Manager. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist wherever needed. Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional attitude. Support new team members during training when requested. Complete additional duties as needed. Essential Functions Ability to learn and perform all bakery production stations. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to push, pull, bend, reach, squat, and move throughout the bakery. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to maintain strong attendance and punctuality. Flexibility and adaptability. The ability to stay organized while balancing multiple responsibilities. Food production or bakery experience (preferred but not required). A desire to grow with an emerging food company.
Compensation & Benefits Starting Pay:
