Production Assistant

The Howard J. Moore Company Inc. is currently looking to hire a Production Assistant at our Plainview NY facility. Our factory specializes in producing custom and precision plastic, fiberglass and rubber components for aerospace, defense, and electronics manufacturers.

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Production Assistant to join our team. As a Production Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the assembly and fabrication of products. As part of this position you will be expected to work with table saws, manual milling machines, lathes, and inspection tools. Training will be provided on-site.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the saw cutting and rough sizing of raw material.
• Operate power tools and hand tools to complete tasks
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
• Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet standards
• Communicate any issues or concerns to supervisors in a timely manner

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment is preferred
• Mechanical knowledge and the ability to use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Ability to read blueprints strongly preferred.
