Job Description

Job Title:
Production Associate Job Description The Production Associate operates as a line operator responsible for carrying out production activities required to manufacture conductive materials such as metal-plated fibers and coated non-woven materials. This role involves hands-on work with chemicals, operation of production equipment, and careful inspection and testing to ensure high-quality finished products. The position requires strong attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work independently while following established procedures and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Perform production activities to manufacture conductive materials, including metal-plated fibers and coated non-woven materials. Handle both large and small volume chemical transfers in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines. Prepare chemical solutions accurately by following written and verbal instructions. Inspect raw materials to ensure they meet required specifications before use in production. Test in-process materials and finished products using designated methods and equipment, and record results clearly and accurately. Record production data, test results, and process parameters in logs or systems as required. Label and package finished goods according to specifications and quality standards. Clean and maintain process equipment and test equipment to ensure reliable operation and product quality. Handle hazardous materials safely, including participating in spill clean-up activities in accordance with safe handling practices and safety procedures. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area at all times to support a productive and compliant workplace. Perform all assignments in a safe manner and actively participate in environmental health and safety programs as assigned. Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to optimize operational efficiency and improve manufacturing processes. Assist in training other operators in accordance with facility practices and procedures. Follow all company policies and comply with applicable regulatory requirements, including those related to occupational safety and environmental protection. Work independently with minimal supervision while effectively communicating with team members and supervisors as needed. Essential Skills At least 6 months to 1 year of manufacturing or chemical handling experience. Demonstrated experience in general production, assembly line work, or line operation. Ability to handle chemicals safely and follow established chemical handling procedures. Strong attention to detail in performing production tasks, inspections, and testing. Safety-conscious mindset with the ability to recognize and follow safe work practices. Ability to use a respirator as required by the role. Ability to work well with minimal supervision while following verbal and written instructions. Effective communication skills to interact with team members and support training efforts. High school diploma or GED. Eligibility to work in the United States. Ability to perform work in full compliance with internal policies and applicable regulatory agencies such as OSHA, EPA, and DEC. Additional Skills & Qualifications Enthusiasm and initiative to develop and maintain robust, repeatable, and safe manufacturing processes. Willingness to support the policies, goals, and objectives of the organization. Comfort working in a production environment that includes hazardous material handling. Ability to contribute to continuous improvement and operational efficiency efforts. Interest in mentoring and assisting with the training of other operators. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role operates in a smaller production facility that offers a family-like atmosphere where most employees have long tenure. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing consistent daytime hours. The work environment involves manufacturing and chemical handling, including the use of process and test equipment and respirators when required. Employees work around hazardous materials and must follow strict safety procedures and environmental health and safety programs. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, orderliness, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards to ensure a safe and productive workplace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Schenectady, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
