General Production Worker - 1st Shift Job Description This role focuses on hands-on assembly work in a production environment, building signs and crates for the petroleum industry from start to finish. You will work on an assembly line using hand and power tools, reading measurements, and performing physical tasks such as lifting and moving materials. The position operates on a 1st shift schedule and currently includes overtime, offering consistent hours in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Responsibilities Assemble signs and crates for the petroleum industry from start to finish on a production assembly line. Use hand tools and power tools, including nail guns, drills, and other equipment, to build products according to specifications. Measure materials accurately using a tape measure to ensure precise cuts, fits, and assembly. Perform manual labor, including lifting materials and products up to 50 pounds independently and participating in team lifts for items over 50 pounds. Stand for extended periods and move throughout the facility to complete tasks in different work areas. Work collaboratively within a team setting to meet production goals and maintain workflow on the assembly line. Follow safety procedures and use required protective equipment, including ear protection where necessary. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient and safe production operations. Essential Skills At least 1 year of general production experience. Proficiency using hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing or assembly environment. Experience operating a nail gun, tape measure, and drill. Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately. Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds independently and participating in team lifts for heavier items. Ability to stand for long periods and move throughout the facility during the shift. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating machinery such as CNC routers and press brakes. Experience in the sign industry. Work Environment The role is based in a standard manufacturing facility that serves as a central hub for sign production in the petroleum industry. The environment is non-climate controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. The facility can be loud, and certain tasks require the use of earplugs or other hearing protection. This is a 1st shift position with a normal schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The facility is currently operating on an overtime schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Work is performed on an assembly line using hand and power tools, and employees should be comfortable standing for long periods, moving around the facility, and working in a busy, production-focused setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Delaware, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
