Job Title:
General Production Worker - 2nd Shift Job Description This role supports a growing manufacturing operation that specializes in copper and copper alloy products used across power, automotive, ammunition, coinage, construction, refrigeration, electronics, and other industries. As a General Production Worker on 2nd shift, you assemble components, operate industrial machinery, and help produce pressure vessels and heat exchangers while following established procedures and safety standards. You will contribute directly to increased production capacity in a clean, organized shop environment. Responsibilities Follow production orders, company procedures, and supervisor directions to prepare parts and assemble components into completed assemblies. Perform mechanical assembly operations using power tools and specialized equipment to produce pressure vessels and heat exchangers. Prepare parts for assembly by grinding, blasting, cutting metals, and performing other pre-assembly operations as required. Execute all assembly tasks in accordance with company procedures and documentation while meeting defined quality and safety standards. Operate industrial machines and equipment safely and efficiently as part of the production process. Use standard hand and power tools such as drills and grinders to complete assigned tasks. Maintain equipment in proper working condition by performing preventative maintenance according to instructions. Monitor work quality and proactively propose new methods, procedures, or equipment improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality. Read and work from drawings and diagrams to follow assembly instructions accurately. Lift, move, and handle materials and components weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to support smooth production flow and meet schedule requirements. Adapt to working different shifts in the future as production needs evolve. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED required. At least 1 year of manufacturing or production work experience. At least 1 year of mechanical assembly experience, including working from drawings and diagrams for assembly instructions. At least 1 year of industrial machine operation experience. Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time, including standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks. Ability to regularly lift and move items up to 50 pounds. Proficiency using standard hand and power tools such as drills and grinders. Ability to understand and work with fractions, decimals, and measurement techniques. Good verbal communication skills for effective interaction with supervisors and team members. Demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures, quality standards, and written work instructions. Team-player mentality with a focus on supporting production goals. Willingness to work other shifts in the future as business needs require. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in the manufacturing industry, particularly in production or mechanical assembly environments. Background in metal fabrication, including grinding, metal cutting, and working in machine or weld shops. Familiarity with heat exchanger assembly or similar pressure vessel production is a plus. Proactive approach to proposing solutions, process improvements, and efficiency enhancements. Understanding of growth-oriented production schedules and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Work Environment The role is based in a clean, comfortable, and organized machine shop and weld shop environment that is non-climate controlled. You will work around industrial machinery, metal fabrication equipment, and standard hand and power tools such as drills and grinders. The regular schedule is 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with occasional work on Fridays as needed. New employees train on 1st shift, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with training availability on this shift being voluntary. The setting emphasizes safety, order, and efficiency, with clear procedures and documentation guiding daily work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Delaware, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
