Objective / Purpose The primary purpose of the Production Team Leader is to conduct all duties of Production Operator while assisting the Production Supervisor with training and general direction of the Production department. Areas of Responsibility / Tasks Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below. General Assist with allocation of workforce to ensure daily tasks are achieved. Update the production schedule with applicable details of change and completion. Print and evaluate work orders for accuracy and completion. Assist with work order troubleshooting. Load and unload bulk trucks. Read, adjust, and calculate silo levels. Feeds product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices, and unloads packaged product. Cleans, assembles, and fills boxes/gaylords, supersacks, and samples. Inspects filled container to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications. Generate labels using provided software and label systems. Accurately and legibly fill out warehouse tally sheets, samples, label requests, and row charts. Utilize handheld scanning devices during warehouse optimization and verification activities. Verify staged and completed product for accuracy physically and systematically. Operate tow motor and scissor lift safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean work space; Daily general cleaning of production work areas. Assist with performing physical inventory. Other duties as assigned by the Production Leadership. Safety & Environmental Compliance Record, retain, and or dispose of product according to facility Operation Clean Sweep compliance. Maintain a safe working environment; Observe all OSHA and Company safety policies. Communication Keep leadership abreast of significant issues or developments that impact quality, safety, health, or environmental. Training Assist with training/cross-training new and existing employees; Assist with conducting monthly training records. Quality Correct and record discrepancies with paperwork. Identify contaminations by visual inspections. Generate and identify records of risk and opportunity. Assist with the internal audit program. Assist with controlled document review and revision. Repack & Blending Operate rail pumps, blenders, silos and packaging line. Follow packaging and/or blending instructions to properly complete a pack out/blend. Assist with weekly and month end packaging supplies inventory. Bulk Load and unload bulk trucks and railcars using portable transload equipment. Operate equipment such as articulating boom lifts and other fall arrest systems. Operate truck scale software. Interact with tanker drivers and conduct bulk tanker inspections. Maintain accurate records for inbound and outbound bulk shipments. Assist with conducting daily railyard inventory. Review orders and prepare department to fulfill all requirements. Pulverizing Perform product testing to confirm product specifications. Evaluate, adjust, and calculate silo levels using the Vega system. Operates and adjusts pulverizing and utility silo equipment. Maintain record of spare machine parts and maintenance performed. Record machine rates and volume consumed/produced. Clean out filter receivers and empty vacuum pump barrels. Minimum Qualifications / Education / Certifications 1.
Education:
a. High school diploma preferred or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. b. Minimum 3 years forklift experience. 2. Demonstrates ability to lead by example by consistently meeting department expectations. 3. Ability to maintain machinery necessary to perform a specialized task. 4. Ability to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment. 5. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. 6. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Order processing systems; Microsoft Excel, and Word. 7. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. 8. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 9. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
