This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude who are eager to develop technical skills in a steel‑processing environment. Full training is provided. Key Responsibilities Assist with the operation and monitoring of tube mill equipment used to process and form steel tube Perform routine quality inspections using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools Support machine setups, tooling changes, and mechanical adjustments Handle and move steel materials safely, including loading and staging using forklifts (training provided if needed) Follow standard operating procedures and all safety protocols related to steel handling and mill operations Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area Communicate equipment or process issues to the Mill Operator or Supervisor Participate in training to develop technical knowledge and operational proficiency

Qualifications Required:

High school diploma or GED Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Ability to work in a fast‑paced industrial environment Must be flexible to work on 1st or 2nd shift Basic math and measurement skills Ability to stand, lift, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift Commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliability Preferred (not required): Prior manufacturing or steel‑processing experience Forklift experience or certification (company will train and certify if needed) Familiarity with hand tools, mechanical systems, or production equipment Work Environment Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to steel materials, machinery, noise, and moving equipment Frequent use of forklifts and material‑handling equipment Personal protective equipment (PPE) required at all times Shift schedules may include days, nights, weekends, or overtime depending on production needs Career Path Opportunities This entry‑level role provides a foundation for advancement into: Mill Operator Quality Technician Maintenance Technician Lead Operator or Supervisor Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Retirement plan options Training and development opportunities How to Apply Interested candidates should apply through our company website www.phillipstube.com.
