National Diamond Tool & Coating is a manufacturer of industrial diamond tools serving the aerospace, composite, and manufacturing industries. We are looking for an experienced Machinist to join our team. This position will work primarily between our machining and surface grinding departments. Because we are a job shop producing custom tooling, the work is varied and employees regularly move between different machines and operations. Responsibilities Machining Our machining department includes two manual Bridgeport mills, one manual lathe, and one Haas CNC lathe. You will be responsible for machining custom tooling to print, performing basic CNC lathe programming and setup, and inspecting your own work to ensure parts meet dimensional requirements. Surface Grinding Our surface grinding department includes two KENT surface grinders used primarily to grind carbide inserts. Previous surface grinding experience is not required. We can train an experienced machinist in our grinding processes. Requirements Previous machining experience Experience programming and operating a CNC lathe, preferably Haas Ability to operate or work with manual machining equipment Ability to read and follow prints and written work instructions Ability to perform dimensional inspections and inspect your own work Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently in a job shop environment CNC Mill Experience Experience programming and operating a CNC mill is a major plus and would qualify a candidate for the higher end of the posted pay range. We have CNC milling capability that we would like to utilize more extensively, so someone with CNC mill programming and operating experience would have an opportunity to help expand this area of our shop. Schedule We work four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, with a standard schedule of 4:00 AM to 2:30 PM . We also offer flexibility with start and end times.
