Job Title:
Operator Job Description This role involves operating production machinery in cell and module assembly departments, performing standard machine operation tasks, and supporting general production activities. Operators work on various shift schedules, including 12-hour rotating shifts and traditional weekday shifts, to ensure continuous, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing output. Responsibilities Operate production machinery in the cell and module assembly departments in a safe, efficient, and consistent manner. Monitor machines during operation to ensure proper performance and product quality, and promptly address basic issues or escalate as needed. Perform standard machine operating tasks, including starting, stopping, adjusting, and overseeing equipment throughout the shift. Handle general production duties such as packaging finished products and moving parts, materials, and boxes throughout the plant. Follow established manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines at all times. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in alignment with 5S3K principles. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all clean room gowning and de-gowning procedures. Support production flow by moving between buildings and departments as needed within the facility. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and maintain consistent output. Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and process deviations promptly to the appropriate personnel. Essential Skills At least 6 months of manufacturing experience. Demonstrated ability to maintain a minimum tenure of 9 months at each previous job. Comfort working in a PPE-required environment and clean room setting. Ability to perform production and general labor tasks, including machine operation and material handling. Willingness and ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts or fixed weekday shifts, including every other weekend for rotating schedules. Capability to walk extensively within a large facility and move materials as needed. Consistent work history without unemployment gaps longer than 30 days. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in production or general labor roles in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with 5S3K or similar workplace organization and efficiency methodologies. Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures. Strong reliability, punctuality, and commitment to maintaining consistent attendance. Comfort working in a bright, temperature-controlled, and meticulously clean environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a very large manufacturing facility where employees walk frequently between buildings and across the plant. The department operates as a clean room environment, requiring employees to wear appropriate garb and, when applicable, a beard net. The space is meticulously clean, temperature controlled, and brightly lit, with a strong emphasis on 5S3K principles for organization and efficiency. Operators work a variety of shifts, including 12-hour rotating schedules (such as 4:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 4:45 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. with a 2-on, 2-off, 3-on, 2-off, 2-on, 3-off pattern) and weekday shifts (such as 5:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.). Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, and employees must be comfortable adhering to all safety and cleanliness standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
