Job Title:
General Production Worker - Port Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and responsible General Production Worker to join our team. This role involves maintaining cleanliness, managing equipment, and ensuring the smooth operation of machinery in our processing facility. You will play an essential part in the production process by handling various tasks and supporting the maintenance team as needed. Responsibilities Ensure all areas are kept clean and equipment is cleaned according to the schedule. Unload trucks and notify lead or management of product quality changes. Unload holding bins to feed onions into the processing facility. Ensure foreign material is removed from the conveyor belt prior to entering the plant. Assist in dryer cleanups and daily cleanings. Frequently monitor machinery to ensure it is operating properly; notify lead/supervisor if not. Keep tools, hoses, and other equipment hung up and stored properly when not in use. Assist maintenance personnel as needed. Maintain a clean and sanitary appearance of self and facility. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and Lock out/Tag out procedures. Report any unsafe acts or issues to management immediately. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Experience in production and general labor. Forklift operation. Knowledge of cleanroom and machine operation. Understanding of food processing and sanitation. Basic mathematical skills. Basic computer skills. Reading comprehension. Time management. Critical thinking. Good manufacturing procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to follow instructions verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret safety and operating instructions. Why Work Here? Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. There is occasional exposure to high, precarious places, moderate cold, and moderate heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderate, requiring awareness and adherence to safety protocols at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Boardman, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
