Team Leader Summary:
The Team Leader is accountable for achieving the People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash and Cost (PSQDCC) targets, through the disciplined and rigorous deployment of the Lean Operating Model. The Team Leader is accountable for attaining Operational Excellence across their designated area of responsibility, in line with the site objectives. The Team Leader is accountable for creating a 'Great Place To Work' through developing and empowering first class Team Members and driving a culture of continuous improvement, safe working and open dialogue.
Responsibilities:
As the Team Leader you will: Create and sustain a culture that is aligned to United Safety PASSION values, by role-modelling behaviors, motivating, encouraging and recognizing the contribution of Team Members.

Hold others accountable to embody the United Safety PASSION values.

Be open and honest when appraising and managing individuals' performance, while supporting and coaching individuals to close performance gaps.

Provide opportunities for MPAs (Manufacturing Production Associates) to play to their strengths; do what they do best and create on-going opportunities for learning and personal development.

Supervise the work of at least two employees.

Exemplify a safety-first mindset, ensuring that the United Safety Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards are applied. Lead and develop the teams to understand the context, mechanics and the delivery of PSQDCC targets to meet customer and stakeholder commitments.

Drive the disciplined deployment of the Lean Operating Model (LOM) across assigned areas, including coaching MPAs to deliver a minimum of 1 implemented Kaizen per month.Develop first-class MPAs, who embody the United Safety PASSION values and are readily able to progress through the MPA levels, Team Leaders or take other roles in the business.

Be involved in problem solving and the management system using a 'Go to Gemba' approach to solve problems with the ambition that 95% of issues can be solved within the zone itself.

Contribute to the Value Stream future state design and ensure its execution across the assigned zone.

Cooperate with other Team Leaders to ensure best performance outcomes for the entire area.

Hold the functional support staff accountable for adhering to the Global standards and enabling the zone team to meet its targets.

Ensure the disciplined execution of Daily Management and Standardized work, through the conscientious adherence to Leader Standard Work.

Drive and facilitate the Engagement of all MPAs, ensuring engagement actions are defined, implemented and followed-through.

Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements and ensure that staff are aware of the policies and their individual responsibilities and accountabilities.

Be responsibility for managing a zone budget as agreed with their Group Leader (GL).Take ownership when having to make difficult decisions linked to their zone.

Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between various production lines, drive motivation for successful teamwork.

Prioritize and assign workload to meet multiple line schedules based on available resources.

Suggest and coordinate optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers' expectations.

Make recommendations to increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.

Support efforts to implement cost reductions, including recommendations for appropriate needs on overtime and manpower requirements. Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.

Recommend improvements to existing plant facilities and equipment, including replacements or adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary. Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel. Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.

Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and participate in the selection of new staff.

Provide recommendations to develop plant staff, overall performance and corrective actions.

Administer discipline as required, coach for improved performance.

Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.

Perform other duties, as assigned.

Uphold a visual facility utilizing lean techniques.
