Job Description

If so, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) may have the position for you! We are excited to welcome a Mail Production Operator to join our team at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Exercise your skill set to process computer generated mail output on various automated Bell & Howell mail inserting machines. We look forward to working with you! This position focuses on operating automated mailing equipment and preparing a wide range of printed materials for distribution. Through your work, you will support accurate processing, quality control, and safe handling of mail items. As a Mail Production Operator, you will perform the following duties:
Machine Operation:
Operate automated inserting equipment and set up machines for daily processing
Material Handling:
Load forms, envelopes, and inserts and verify that materials match production requirements
Quality Review:
Check completed mail pieces for accuracy and prepare them for trays or transport
Minor Maintenance:
Make small adjustments and repairs to keep equipment running smoothly
Mail Preparation:
Use scales, metering equipment, and folding machines to prepare items for mailing
General Support:
Assist with hand enclosing, packaging, and movement of mail within processing areas Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description .
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Mail Production Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or One year of clerical experience ; or An equivalent combination of experience and training .
