SHIFT GENERAL PRODUCTION WORKER GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN A GROWING COMPANY WITH A GREAT CULTURE!
This role involves working in a clean, production and assembly environment where you will perform basic mechanical and electrical assembly on small parts used in cooling and heat transfer devices for computer and electronic equipment. You will rotate through different production cells, receive cross-training in multiple functions, and carry out detailed, repetitive tasks that require strong attention to accuracy, documentation, and quality standards. Responsibilities Work in various production cells, learning and performing different assembly and inspection functions as needed. Perform basic mechanical and electrical assembly on the production floor using small hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, and wrenches. Carry out small-part assembly and inspection tasks with a high level of attention to detail. In the Helicoil cell, check that helicoils are installed properly and to the correct depth, and use a small electric screwdriver to screw helicoils into heat transfer units. Perform minor deburring using a small file-type deburring instrument, followed by inspection and light assembly work. In the Heat Pipe Assembly cell, take small metal tubes from storage, line them up in a jig, and crimp the ends according to procedures. Accurately fill tubes with a pre-measured amount of powder, ensuring that each tube is filled correctly with no missed or double-filled parts, and return tubes to the jig for crimping the other end. In the Codman line, assemble small surgical tips used for brain surgery by picking up parts with tweezers and performing multiple assembly and testing steps to meet customer specifications. Use a magnifying glass when required to complete fine assembly tasks and verify quality. Follow written operating procedures and work instructions carefully, maintaining focus and consistency throughout repetitive tasks. Document production numbers, work performed, scheduled quality checks, and any issues or problems encountered on paper and in computer systems. Read and complete work orders and traveler documents accurately and legibly. Use a computer comfortably to enter data and track work-related information. Maintain good attendance and punctuality to support production schedules and team performance. Adhere to all quality, safety, and housekeeping standards within the production area. Perform most tasks while seated at a table, maintaining an organized and efficient work area. Essential Skills Previous assembly experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Mechanical skills and good mechanical aptitude for working with small tools and components. Production experience, including comfort with repetitive tasks and meeting production targets. Experience with mechanical assembly and general labor in a factory or similar setting. Ability to perform electronic or electrical assembly tasks on small parts. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially when working with small components and pre-measured materials. Ability to read and document information in work orders and traveler documents. Comfort using a computer for basic data entry and documentation. Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures. Reliable attendance and the ability to maintain consistent work performance. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma. Ability to read a tape measure and apply basic measurement skills (preferred but not strictly required). Basic mechanical ability, including familiarity with small hand tools. Experience with inspection of small parts or components. Comfort using tweezers and working with very small pieces, sometimes under a magnifying glass. Willingness to cross-train and learn multiple production cells and functions. Ability to stay focused and on task while performing repetitive work. Openness to a temp-to-hire opportunity with skills-based progression Work Environment The work takes place in a clean, production facility that manufactures cooling and heat transfer devices for small and large computer and electronic equipment. The environment involves handling small parts and performing repetitive tasks at a workstation, primarily seated at a table. You will use small hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, wrenches, tweezers, and file-type deburring instruments, as well as small electric screwdrivers and jigs for holding parts. Some tasks require working under a magnifying glass for detailed assembly and inspection. The role is not highly physical but does require sustained focus, fine motor skills, and strong attention to detail. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
