Job Description

Production Worker Shinagawa Specialty Ceramics Americas Great opportunity for individuals looking for full-time production work. All positions offer medical, dental, vision, life insurance and 401k. Starting rate of $20.88/hr, with guaranteed increases every 3 months up to full rate of $26.10 after one year of service. Positions may include production support work in various departments or machine operations. Essential functions of these jobs may include frequent standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling and repetitive motion. The main work schedule is primarily day shift Monday-Friday, however the successful candidate must be available to work alternative shifts i.e. 10 or 12 hours per day, 3 or 4 days per week. Some departments have 2nd shift or weekend work available as well. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment; including blueprint reading, machine operation and forklift operation, is a plus but not required. All positions require reliable attendance, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently, or as part of a team. Shinagawa Specialty Ceramics manufactures wear resistant ceramic materials, for a number of different businesses and applications. Employees are represented by the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (UE) The incumbent should possess the following abilities: Computer proficiency Safe operation of powered mobile equipment including fork-lifts Mechanical aptitude including ability to use basic hand tools, recognize, troubleshoot, and make small mechanical repairs Ability to work with minimal supervision and be able to effectively communicate with shift partners, between shifts, and with supervision Ability to understand work safety requirements. This includes the proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and following SOP's (standard operating procedures) Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check Able to perform physical labor, can possibly include: Lift up to 40 lb. Corrected vision to 20/30 Regular climbing of stairs and ladders Ability to bend, stoop, shovel and reach
