Shop Assistant Spherion is sourcing for an inventive, family-centric company in Mechanicsburg, PA that is dedicated to the health and well-being of both its customers and employees. Compensation & Schedule Starting Pay:
$20.00 per hour.
Shift:
Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Job Responsibilities As a Shop Assistant, you will handle a hybrid of technical assembly and warehouse logistics: Technical Production & Assembly Build water softeners and filtration units according to technical work instructions and the Bill of Materials (BOM). Inspect, clean, and organize components such as tanks, valves, and resin prior to assembly. Install internal distributors and external bypass valves using appropriate adhesives or fasteners. Conduct visual inspections to verify electronic control valve settings and media levels. Log serial numbers and track work orders using a cloud-based inventory and production management system. Warehouse Operations Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against documentation. Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Maintain an organized workspace and rotate stock using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) methods. Accurately pick, pack, and label products for customer orders or shipping schedules. Update inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to reflect accurate stock levels.
Skills & Qualifications Mechanical Aptitude:
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic plumbing fittings.
Technical Literacy:
Ability to read and follow Technical Work Instructions and Bills of Materials (BOM).
Digital Proficiency:
Comfortable using tablets or terminals for real-time inventory and serial number logging.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to consistently lift and maneuver components and media bags weighing up to 50 lbs. Capability to stand, bend, and reach for the duration of an 8-hour shift. High level of manual dexterity for handling small fittings and O-rings.
Experience Plus:
