Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Punch Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating punch presses and related machinery to produce high-quality metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, blueprint reading, and precision measurement to ensure products meet strict quality standards. The Punch Press Operator will play a vital role in maintaining efficient production workflows and ensuring safety compliance within the manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate punch press machines to cut, shape, or form metal and non-metal materials. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production drawings. Select appropriate dies, punches, and tooling based on job specifications. Load materials into the machine and ensure proper alignment. Monitor machine operation to ensure quality and accuracy of produced parts. Inspect finished components using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges). Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain tolerances and production output. Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all safety guidelines and lockout/tagout procedures. Document production counts, quality checks, and machine issues. Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production deadlines. Experience Proven experience operating various manufacturing machinery such as stamping presses and press brake machines. Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in fabrication techniques including welding and electrical discharge machining (EDM). Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges for quality inspection. Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles is preferred. Prior experience working with sheet metal fabrication or assembly is advantageous. Basic math skills necessary for measurement calculations and process adjustments. Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
