MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 1ST SHIFT POSITION!
!! 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
This position reports to the Cutting Team Lead under the Production Supervisor.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED
The Manufacturing Associate is responsible for preparing raw materials and subassemblies to meet the expectations of its internal and the company's external customers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Retrieve, mark, cut, and stage raw materials to include foam sheeting, leather, and vinyl for use in further manufacturing operations. Operate CNC fabric cutting machines to include loading material, utilizing machine scanning to nest cut patterns, and initiate cutting operations. Organize and group cut pieces together into bundles to proceed through further manufacturing operations. Complete basic finishing operations on select products to include cutting, trimming, glueing, and stapling. Ensure the department remains organized and free of debris or other waste that may hinder the efficient and safe operation of the department. Communicate clearly with internal customers including the Product Inspector regarding product quality and other issues. Listen to and implement any feasible feedback internal customers may provide to ensure their expectations are being met. Maintain and continually update data for Continuous Improvement efforts, team job performance measures, and individual performance measures. Properly shut down and organize the working are at the end of each day. Communicate to appropriate individuals when tools and supplies need to be ordered. Other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent and level of understanding needed to excel in this position. Current holder of or able to qualify for a CDL physical card. Current training or ability to be trained to operate a sit-down forklift. Good communication skills - written, verbal, listening and attention to detail. Basic math & computer skills. Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Manufacturing Associate is subject to bending, squatting, pushing, lifting heavy objects, crawling, and working in otherwise awkward positions. The Manufacturing Associate must also possess the ability to manipulate his/her fingers, hands, and wrists in repetitive motion(s).
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS
The Manufacturing Associate works in a well-lighted environment but is subject to occasional high decibel sounds associated with production and non-toxic fumes also associated with production. Subject to extreme repetitive motion. Other duties include working with tools and/or machinery and other items that have very sharp edges, may be under high levels of pressure or are extremely hot.
