Production Worker Job Description This role focuses on the efficient and safe packaging of chocolate products in a modern manufacturing facility. You will prepare and handle packaging materials, monitor production lines, and inspect finished products to ensure they meet strict quality and safety standards. You will also help maintain equipment and keep your work area clean and organized in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Responsibilities Ensure the efficient and safe packaging of chocolate products in accordance with established production, quality, and safety standards. Prepare, stage, and replenish packaging materials to support continuous production line operations. Monitor production lines to identify and address issues such as jams, mislabels, or packaging defects in a timely manner. Inspect finished products for quality, correct labeling, and proper packaging, and remove any defective items from the line. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and material handling procedures to maintain product integrity and food safety. Label, pack, and organize products accurately according to production requirements and customer specifications. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following housekeeping standards and cleaning procedures. Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to all safety policies and guidelines while working on the production floor. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous improvement in the packaging process. Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or quality issues promptly to ensure timely resolution. Essential Skills Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in packing, packaging, labeling, or inspecting products. Hands-on experience with packing and inspecting products on production lines. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the ability to follow GMP guidelines consistently. Basic material handling skills, including safe handling and organization of packaging materials and finished goods. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to quality and safety standards. Strong attention to detail when inspecting products, labels, and packaging for accuracy and quality. Reliable work history demonstrating stable employment and consistent attendance. Ability to work effectively on a third-shift schedule from Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is an asset. Comfort working in a structured environment with GMP and PPE requirements. Ability to work both independently and as part of a production team. Willingness to learn and adapt to different levels or roles based on performance and attendance. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing environment within a brand-new, temperature-controlled building. You will work on the third shift, Sunday through Thursday, from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The site employs approximately 360 people, creating a collaborative production setting with established processes and standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Scranton, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
