Job Description

Production Equipment Operator Job Description The Production Equipment Operator sets up, operates, and monitors manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality products in a clean food production environment. This role ensures that equipment runs efficiently, quality standards are consistently met, and inventory and production data are accurately recorded in the system. Responsibilities Operate production equipment safely and efficiently to manufacture product according to established procedures and specifications. Monitor equipment performance during production runs and make basic adjustments to maintain product quality and output. Perform equipment changeovers as required, including setting up machines for different products or production runs. Ensure all products meet established quality standards by performing routine inspections and checks during production. Unload tankers safely and accurately, following all operational and safety procedures. Collect product and material samples as required for quality testing and documentation. Receive incoming shipments and accurately enter relevant information into SAP or other designated systems. Track and check inventory levels daily, ensuring accurate counts and timely reporting of discrepancies. Use Microsoft Word and Excel to complete basic documentation, logs, and reports related to production and inventory. Apply general math skills, including working with percentages, fractions, and decimals, to support measurements, calculations, and production reporting. Assist with basic mechanical tasks and minor equipment adjustments, drawing on mechanical aptitude and maintenance awareness. Work with PLC-controlled equipment by following established procedures and responding appropriately to basic system prompts or alarms. Follow all safety, cleanliness, and food manufacturing guidelines to maintain a clear and compliant production environment. Collaborate with team members and leadership to support continuous improvement and efficient workflow across shifts. Essential Skills Experience in production, general production, or manufacturing environments. Hands-on experience with machine operation or machine operating in an industrial or production setting. Ability to perform basic inspection tasks to verify product quality and adherence to standards. Proficiency in general labor tasks associated with a production or machine operator role. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel for basic documentation and data entry. General math skills, including the ability to work confidently with percentages, fractions, and decimals. Mechanical inclination with the ability to understand how machines function and perform basic adjustments. Familiarity with maintenance concepts and safe practices around production equipment. Comfort working with or around PLC-controlled equipment by following established operating procedures. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in food manufacturing or a similar clean production environment. Experience unloading tankers and handling bulk materials safely and efficiently. Experience using SAP or similar enterprise systems for receiving shipments and tracking inventory. Strong attention to detail when tracking and checking daily inventory levels. Ability to work effectively across different shifts and collaborate with a diverse team. Work Environment This role is based in a food manufacturing facility with a clear, clean production environment that follows strict hygiene and safety standards. There is one opening per shift, with three primary shifts available: first shift runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; second shift runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.; and third shift runs Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Team members work around production machinery, PLC-controlled equipment, and inventory systems such as SAP, while using standard office tools like Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and consistent adherence to food manufacturing protocols, with clear expectations for maintaining an orderly and contamination-free workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Throop, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
