Manufacturing Process Systems Specialist

Position Overview This hybrid role combines hands-on machining support with manufacturing systems coordination. The position is responsible for maintaining accurate, standardized production data while supporting tooling and machining operations on the shop floor. This role plays a key part in ensuring process consistency, improving tooling performance, and aligning manufacturing documentation with current production practices. Key Responsibilities Tooling & Machining Support Assist with daily tooling operations and coordinate with production and engineering teams Provide guidance on cutting tool selection, application, and performance optimization Support initiatives to reduce tooling costs and improve machining efficiency Assist with setup activities, including tooling and fixture preparation Help train operators and technicians on tooling usage and machining processes Collaborate with external suppliers regarding tooling and process requirements Manufacturing Data & Systems Maintain and update production data within internal systems (ERP, MES, or similar) Review and clean up outdated or inaccurate records related to tooling and process documentation Ensure consistency across routings, setup instructions, and tooling libraries Establish and follow standardized naming conventions and documentation practices Support efforts to improve data accuracy and process visibility Process Documentation Update and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, and process documentation Ensure documentation reflects current engineering standards and production methods Coordinate updates when process or product changes occur Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve process consistency and reduce setup variation Support efforts to streamline machining operations and improve overall efficiency

Qualifications Required:

2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Exposure to CNC machining processes with basic program interaction (editing, troubleshooting, or support) Familiarity with cutting tools, machining operations, and basic fixture concepts Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and organize technical data Experience creating or maintaining process documentation or work instructions Ability to use standard inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)

Preferred:

Experience with ERP, MES, or similar production systems Involvement in process improvement or cost-reduction initiatives Familiarity with manufacturing documentation such as routings or setup sheets Technical training or education related to machining or manufacturing Work Environment Combination of shop floor and office-based work Exposure to typical manufacturing conditions (noise, temperature changes, etc.) May require standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs Schedule may include off-shift or rotating shift support

Pay:

$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
