Job Description
Job Summary:
The Production Control Specialist is responsible for planning and coordinating the scheduling activities in the Aerospace and Defense business unit to meet ThermOmegaTech's finished goods and inventory targets. This role works closely with Production, Purchasing, Sales, and Engineering to ensure material availability and efficient workflow, while maintaining high on-time delivery performance. The Production Control Specialist will use their experience in inventory control, MRP systems, and team communication to effectively support additional operational goals.Responsibilities:
1.Scheduling & Planning:
o Coordinate ERP operations by collaborating with Purchasing and Machine Shop departments in order to prevent out-of-stock inventory issues including serialization and tracking of all A&D orders. o Create Items/Routing structures including MRP requirements for ThermOmegaTech Valves. o Develop and maintain production plans based on labor, capacity, quality standards, and customer demand. o Monitor and manage long lead-time sales orders to maintain a high on-time delivery rate. o Identify and communicate future supply/demand issues and lead proactive planning efforts. 2.Cross-Functional Coordination:
o Collaborate with Sales to provide lead times and resolve problem orders. o Work with Engineering on R&D projects and planning-related product issues. o Communicate schedules, delays, and upcoming orders with the Production Team and Management o Coordinate with Purchasing and the Machine Shop to align inventory levels with forecasts. o Serve as a key point of contact between departments to ensure alignment of production goals and priorities including sub-contractor operations for external vendors. 3.Training & Support:
o Train production employees on ERP (Syspro) modules related to production. o Support Team Leads as needed in managing workloads and priorities. o Prepare and report Key Metrics to manufacturing areas. High School Diploma or equivalent 5 plus years of mechanical assembly experience in a production environment 3 plus years of experience in production management or supervision 3 plus years of experience in inventory control using MRP tools Deep knowledge of Syspro (Job Processing, PO Processing, Sales Orders, Shop Clock) Strong understanding of inventory control and MRP-based planning Medical, Dental, and Vision plans offered 401k plan offered at 90 days Paid Time Off (PTO) available This job description is not intended to provide an all-inclusive listing of job-related activities.
