Job Title:
Production Worker Job Description This entry-level Production Worker role focuses on assembling and inspecting test strips, packaging products, and supporting general manufacturing operations in a high-volume production environment. You will work on a production line, operate basic production tools, and follow established procedures to ensure products meet quality and safety standards. This position offers hands-on experience in manufacturing and the opportunity to grow into other roles within the organization. Responsibilities Assemble and inspect test strips according to established procedures and quality standards. Lift and move materials and products weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the shift. Package products accurately and efficiently while maintaining production line flow. Operate basic production tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Remove, separate, document, and report defective materials or products to maintain quality control. Monitor material levels and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need replenishment. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions consistently. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety guidelines. Perform additional duties as required to support production needs and team goals. Work extended hours when necessary to meet production deadlines and customer demand. Essential Skills Ability to assemble and inspect products with attention to detail and accuracy. Capability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for the majority of the shift. Willingness to work in a manufacturing, general production, or production line environment. Comfort operating basic production tools and working on a bottling or packaging line. Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and written instructions. Strong job tenure and a demonstrated desire to work in manufacturing. Reliability and consistency in attendance and punctuality. Willingness to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and productivity. Additional Skills & Qualifications Entry-level role suitable for candidates with experience in restaurant, distribution, or similar fast-paced environments who demonstrate good job tenure. Experience in general production, packaging, picker/packer, line worker, bottler, bottling line, or machine operator roles is beneficial. Comfort working in a team-oriented production setting with defined processes and goals. Ability to adapt to different tasks and departments as needed within the production facility. Work Environment The role is based in a production facility dedicated to manufacturing chemicals and test kits for monitoring water quality, offering nearly 600 different test-kit configurations that include wet-chemistry and dry-chemistry methods and microprocessor-based instruments. The production environment includes approximately 90 people and emphasizes teamwork, efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday on the second shift, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with the possibility of extended hours when needed to meet demand. Employees stand for most of the shift and regularly handle materials up to 25 pounds while working on production lines, bottling lines, and packaging operations. The facility provides a structured, process-driven environment where employees use basic production tools and equipment and follow clearly defined Standard Operating Procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparks, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
