We specialize in preserved moss walls, faux greenery, faux florals, custom planters, seasonal décor rental services, and branded botanical installations for commercial spaces. Our work blends nature, design, craftsmanship, and storytelling to create spaces that feel warm, elevated, and connected to their surroundings. We are a small, growing studio with a creative, hands-on environment where every project is different and every detail matters. About the Role We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Production + Install Assistant to help with studio production, project prep, installations, warehouse organization, and hands-on fabrication. This is a great role for someone who enjoys creative, physical work and takes pride in making spaces look polished, clean, and elevated. The right person should enjoy variety and be comfortable helping wherever needed — from prepping materials in the studio to assisting on-site with client installations. This role will primarily take place in our Severn, MD studio/warehouse and on client sites throughout the
DC/MD/VA
area. Occasional remote or flexible work may be available for planning, sourcing, or admin-related tasks, depending on the person's experience and the needs of the business. For the right long-term fit, there may be an opportunity to grow into a larger or full-time position as Rooted Wonders continues to expand.
Responsibilities:
Assist with production of preserved moss walls, faux plantings, planters, floral arrangements, and seasonal décor Prep materials for client projects, including moss, faux foliage, containers, signage, hardware, foam, adhesives, tools, and installation supplies Help with on-site installations throughout the
DC/MD/VA
area Pack, load, unload, transport, and organize project materials Maintain a clean and organized studio/warehouse Support touch-ups, repairs, finishing details, and quality control before projects leave the studio Follow project instructions, renderings, photos, measurements, and design direction carefully Assist with inventory counts, product organization, and vendor order prep Help keep tools, supplies, samples, and project materials organized Represent Rooted Wonders professionally while working on client sites
The Right Person Is:
Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a small business environment Hands-on, detail-oriented, and willing to jump in where needed Organized and able to follow directions carefully Creative, resourceful, and solution-oriented Comfortable working both independently and alongside the owner Comfortable working in a fast-moving, non-corporate creative studio Professional around clients, designers, contractors, property managers, and building teams Interested in plants, design, interiors, events, fabrication, floral design, or creative production Calm under pressure and able to stay flexible when project needs shift Physical Requirements This is a hands-on role.
Applicants should be comfortable with:
Standing, bending, reaching, and working with hands for extended periods Lifting and carrying project materials, tools, boxes, planters, and installation supplies Working on ladders when needed Loading and unloading vehicles Working in a warehouse/studio environment Assisting on active client sites, including offices, lobbies, hotels, buildings, and commercial spaces
Helpful Experience, But Not Required:
Floral design, faux plant styling, event production, set design, visual merchandising, construction, carpentry, art installation, landscaping, warehouse, or installation experience Experience using basic tools, adhesives, hardware, foam, moss, greenery, florals, or display materials Experience reading simple measurements, layouts, renderings, or project instructions Driver's license and reliable transportation strongly preferred Compensation + Growth This role is paid hourly or project-based depending on the candidate, experience level, and type of work. Rooted Wonders is growing, and we are looking for someone who may want to grow with us. While this role may begin as part-time, contract, seasonal, or project-based, there is potential for a larger or full-time position in the future.
