Company & Position Overview LEER is seeking dependable, motivated, and safety-conscious individuals to join our manufacturing team as General Laborers. This position supports the production of fiberglass truck caps and related products through a variety of manufacturing, assembly, material handling, and finishing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The General Laborer is responsible for supporting daily production activities while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards. This position may perform a variety of duties including material handling, assembly, trimming, sanding, cleaning, packaging, and assisting machine operators throughout the manufacturing process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Support Assist with the manufacturing and assembly of fiberglass truck caps and related products. Load, unload, move, and stage materials throughout the facility. Prepare molds, parts, and components for production operations. Perform trimming, sanding, grinding, drilling, and finishing tasks as required. Support assembly operations using hand and power tools. Inspect products for defects and report quality concerns to supervisors. Follow production schedules and work instructions to meet daily output goals. Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements. Properly wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and housekeeping standards. Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment issues immediately. Participate in safety meetings and training programs. Quality & Continuous Improvement Perform work according to established quality standards. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and workplace safety. Assist with reducing scrap, rework, and waste. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Teamwork & Communication Work effectively with supervisors and fellow team members. Communicate production concerns and equipment issues promptly. Assist in cross-training efforts and support other departments as needed. Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Previous manufacturing, warehouse, assembly, or production experience preferred. Ability to read and understand work instructions and safety procedures. Basic math and measurement skills. Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and additional shifts as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods (8-12 hours per shift). Frequently bend, stoop, twist, kneel, squat, and reach overhead. Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements. Work in varying temperatures and manufacturing conditions. Wear required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe footwear, respirators, and other equipment as required. Safely operate around forklifts, machinery, and moving equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing facility environment. Exposure to noise, dust, fiberglass materials, chemicals, vibration, and varying temperatures. Frequent interaction with production equipment and moving machinery. Fast-paced environment requiring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to see with or without correction, Ability to hear at normal speaking levels without correction, Standing/Walking/ Mobility- able to work 8-12 hours standing and able to move in between departments. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, use feet and legs/hands and arms, and ability to bend arms and kneel constantly. Job requires lifting up to 45 lbs, pushing and pulling heavy truck caps, and reaching. Must be able to work with hands. Ability to follow and understand directions/ do repetitive tasks. Ability to work in hot, cold, rainy weather, be around noise/dust/chemicals, and moving equipment such as forklifts.
