Job Description

Job Summary:
This position is a hybrid position encompassing several different disciplines including shipping/receiving/material handling/steel warehousing but is focused on Salvagnini
MV/S4/P4
panel bending equipment. Successful operators will primarily be responsible for the setup and operation of an automated Salvagnini
MV/S4/P4
production system. This includes upstream and downstream support. Individuals must be technically advanced in several fabrication processes as well as possess a deep knowledge of Epicor ERP systems as they relate to production, shipping and receiving. Operators must be quality and process orientated, be self-motivated, self-directed, work well independently and in a team environment, and be flexible in daily responsibilities. Essentially, this small team will operate with a very entrepreneurial mindset while prioritizing collaboration, communication, and coordination of duties to maximize production. Hours Monday-Thursday 6:15am-3:15pm, Friday 6:15am-12:15pm
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Fully understands the integrated Salvagnini FMS system including interactive software for each component (MV, S4 and P4) to optimize the production of materials through the entire system. MV Safely and accurately operate material warehouse including: load and inventory raw materials into the material warehouse Efficiently and accurately interact with WMS software, codes, commands and graphical interface. Proficient operation of SMD and understanding of relationship between SMD and MV S4 Safely and accurately operate punching system including: punch tooling loading, sharpening and maintenance including punch head configuration, station use and identification. Confirming tools are loaded and locked into the punch head. Shear unit operation and use Manipulator/hold downs and clamps Loading conveyor and centering bar Deviators, scrap conveyors, parts bins and stacker. Program loading, compilation, running programs in load and empty conditions Motives for stopping, suspending, resetting, and running production P4 Safely and accurately operate bending system including: Primary bending unit, rotator, tooling and supplemental accessories including CLA, Option Cut. Use of PCD de-stacker, loading software, RIP, Safe use of manual commands and program edits Compiling, loading, running programs in load and empty conditions Motives for stopping, suspending, resetting, running production. Understanding basic code commands, edits and modifications. set up and troubleshoot supplemental "internal to cycle equipment (e.g.: bending, hardware, spot-weld) Demonstrated skills operating equipment with NC, CNC controls. Detail orientation, eye and hand coordination, mechanical ability Advanced understanding of sheet metal and its properties Advanced blueprint reading and quality processes knowledge including equipment operation to ensure parts are fully inspected, documented and meet customer requirements. Safely and accurately identifies, unloads, receives, and locates raw material from trucks. Physically and electronically moves and locates all raw material, WIP, hardware and supplies into designated areas based on standard processes. Organizes, monitors, and consolidates scrap metal bins including preparing skids/tubs/dumpsters for shipment, weighing, and identifying material types, creating BOL/packing slip, and contacting vendor for pickup. Work with purchasing to reconcile any differences in weights/payment from vendor. Prepares product for shipment. Loads and unloads trucks. Coordinates with Bloomington shipping/receiving/purchasing departments to ensure accurate paperwork is completed. Performs daily, weekly, monthly PM checks and inspections to ensure maximum uptime. Positively coordinates and collaborates with engineering and maintenance to troubleshoot system issues and improve overall utilization. Flexes daily job duties to fill in for personnel to perform various processes including special projects requiring independent action Assist in training and cross training of employees Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition Notify Manager of concerns when help is needed Use appropriate tools and equipment necessary to perform the job Conducts periodic inventory cycle counts to maintain raw material inventory as directed. Assists in the organization and tactical management of annual physical inventory counts.
Qualification Requirements:

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED). 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing job shop required.
Skills:
Math and Computer skills required, including proficiency in ERP. Advanced blueprint reading Advanced inspection experience Setup experience specific to department[s], systems and equipment Understanding of Material Properties including Flatness, Surface Grades, Types, Gauge etc. Appropriate communication skills (Read, Write, Speak, Listen) Forklift and material handling experience including handling of large bundles of steel, finished goods and scrap.
Tools required:
barcode scanner, forklift and pallet jack, overhead crane.

Monday-Thursday 5:30am-2:45pm, Friday 6am-11am until further notice
