Production Associate

Job Title:

Production Associate Responsibilities Work primarily within the deburr, powder coat, and finishing departments Safely utilize hand tools and small power tools to remove burrs, create edge breaks, and prepare parts for further processing. Inspect part dimensions and features to ensure they adhere to blueprint specifications and identify any quality issues. Read and interpret blueprints to verify that part configuration and features meet requirements. Use measuring equipment such as gauges, scales, calipers, and similar tools to confirm accuracy and quality. Pretreat, clean, mask, prime, and powder coat a variety of parts as needed to meet finishing requirements. Assist with material handling, including manual lifting and moving materials within the facility. Load parts correctly onto production lines to maximize line capacity and maintain efficient workflow. Apply plugs and tape to parts as required for masking and finishing processes. Use grinders to prep materials for welding and to finish steel components and materials. Assist with sanding, grinding, and deburring steel components and materials as part of daily production tasks. Support machining department activities through cross-training, including assisting with machine setups and loading/unloading materials and finished products. Perform general machine helper and production support tasks as needed. Follow all safety policies and procedures and maintain safe work practices at all times. Contribute to housekeeping and area upkeep to keep workstations clean, organized, and safe. Remain on your feet throughout the shift while performing various production and labor-intensive tasks. Essential Skills Experience deburring and grinding parts in a production or fabrication environment. Experience working within a welding or fabrication environment. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used for grinding, sanding, deburring, and general fabrication work. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and operate tools and equipment safely and effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual material handling throughout the shift. Ability to read and interpret blueprints to verify part configuration and requirements. Ability to use measuring equipment such as gauges, scales, and calipers to check part dimensions. Comfort working in a general manufacturing or construction-related setting, including tasks related to grinding, sanding, finishing, and general production support. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
