Job Description

Position Summary As a whey trainee, you will work alongside experienced operators to learn how whey is processed, dried, and packaged—building the skills to grow into other roles within our Whey team. You'll learn different areas of the whey operation while working closely with experienced operators and supervisors. No prior whey experience is required—we provide training. What You'll Do Learn and assist in multiple whey processing roles while training on the job Support operators during equipment cleaning and sanitation processes Help prepare, clean, and maintain processing equipment following standard procedures Monitor basic process conditions during start-up, shutdown, and cleaning cycles Perform routine cleaning and simple preventative maintenance tasks Move finished whey and lactose products to designated storage areas Safely handle and work with cleaning chemicals while wearing the required protective equipment Complete production and quality paperwork accurately Follow food safety, quality, and workplace safety procedures at all times Communicate with team leads and supervisors to keep operations running safely and smoothly Attend required safety, quality, and job training sessions What We're Looking For Team-oriented with a willingness to learn Good communication skills Attention to detail Ability to problem-solve and follow instructions Initiative and reliability This position does not supervise other employees. Work Environment Food manufacturing facility Exposure to noise, moving equipment, vibration, and cleaning chemicals Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required Schedule & Hours Full-time position Training schedule: 5:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. , on an alternating repeating schedule After training, this role is expected to move to night shift , 5:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m. , on an alternating repeating schedule Schedule may vary based on production needs Physical Requirements Physical job duties will be outlined in a separate functional job description
Education & Experience Required:
High school diploma or GED Must be able to maintain forklift certification Must be at least 18 years old
Preferred:
