Job Description

Job Title:
Production Worker - Shelter Systems Job Summary We are seeking a versatile Manual Production Worker to join our Shelter Systems manufacturing team. In this role, you will support the entire fabrication process, from initial material movement to final assembly. You will operate hand tools and machinery to perform critical tasks like pop riveting, grommet installation, and pulling material for Sewing Machine Operators. This role requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis throughout the day, the willingness to do different things throughout the day, and a strong commitment to quality, ensuring our shelters meet strict customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities Physical and Manual Dexterity:
Requires frequent use of hands and arms to grasp, lift, carry, move and position materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Pop Riveting:
Operate pneumatic and manual pop rivet guns to secure metal frame components, reinforcement brackets, and fabric attachments.
Grommet Pressing:
Use kick presses, pneumatic dies, or hand tools to install heavy-duty grommets, eyelets, and snaps into technical fabrics.
Final Assembly:
Assist in joining fabric skins to aluminum/steel frames, ensuring proper tensioning, alignment, and fitment of the final shelter system.
Material Movement:
Safely transport raw materials, heavy vinyl fabrics, metal extrusions, and semi-finished parts across the production floor.
Loading/Unloading:
Assist with staging materials at various workstations and preparing finished shelter kits for final packaging and shipping.
Visual Inspection:
Check parts post-riveting and post-grommeting for defects, loose fits, or fabric tearing.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Previous experience in a manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, or construction environment preferred.
Tool Proficiency:
Comfortable using manual tools, pneumatic pop rivet guns, table presses, and basic measuring tapes.
Physical Capability:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, bend, reach, and stand for the duration of an 8-10 hour shift.
Physical and Manual Dexterity:
Requires frequent use of hands and arms to grasp, lift, carry, move and position materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
