STARLINK PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE
One of the most ambitious missions that SpaceX has undertaken to date, the Starlink satellite constellation is our solution to providing fast and reliable internet to the entire world. This facility in Bastrop, TX manufactures the high-volume consumer products that we ship directly to customers. Our customers currently include teachers in the most remote parts of the Amazon, researchers in Antarctica, digital nomads who travel via RV, emergency responders, commercial airlines, cruise lines, and residential users who live in more rural or developing areas. This Production Associate position supports the Starlink product factory and manufacturing operation, which continues to grow as demand for Starlink increases globally. This is a hands-on position that operates light equipment and performs basic assembly tasks in an organized and efficient manner. We are looking for motivated and well-rounded workers to help ensure the productivity and reliability of our manufacturing facility, ultimately ensuring that we can produce thousands of Starlink kits every day.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the development of prototype manufacturing and test capabilities Mechanical/electrical assembly of user terminal components, subassemblies, and final assembly according to instructions Operate light equipment such as drills, custom build tooling, crimpers, and presses Program, load, operate, and troubleshoot automated equipment Execute equipment maintenance and calibration schedules Maintain consumables inventory Assist engineers with development builds and other tasks Help develop and optimize production line stations and processes Keep a clean, organized, and thoroughly maintained workspace Ensure product quality and conformance to design requirements Put safety as number one priority
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
2+ years of mechanical or electrical assembly experience Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and work from drawings and controlled documentation such as: layout drawings, mechanical drawings, assembly procedures/work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts lists Able to proficiently use a PC, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office suite Experience working in an electro-mechanical manufacturing company, a precision manufacturing company, or high-volume manufacturing company Experience with electrical wiring Electro-mechanical assembly and prototype development experience Experience setting up and running tests and experiments
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be available to work at least one of the following shifts:
A Shift:
5 AM•5:30 PM (Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday)
B Shift:
5 AM•5:30 PM (Thursday through Saturday and every other Wednesday)
C Shift:
5 PM•5:30 AM (Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday)
D Shift:
5 PM•5:30 AM (Thursday through Saturday and every other Wednesday) Able to work all shifts, overtime and weekends as needed. Shifts are subject to change, we have multiple shifts, including late afternoons/nights Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position Able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted
