Description Summary:

STX Beef is seeking entry level laborer positions to train and qualify in skilled jobs for our beef plant. Laborer positions include but not limited to de-boning, trimming and packaging. All positions consist of standing long periods of time, physical, repetitive line work, gripping, grasping and lifting or pushing up to 50 lbs., depending on the job position.

Responsibilities:

Perform a variety of specialized tasks in a cold, wet, or damp environment. Must be willing to learn and use a hook, knife, saw, band saw or other equipment to perform specialized tasks, remove bones, trim, separate, sort or cut standard or premium cuts of meat to specifications in preparation for further processing or packaging. Ability to do tasks which require upper body strength and constant repetitive movements. Able to stand on hard surfaces the entire shift; use of stairs and personal protection equipment (PPE) is required in all areas of the facility. Process product according to operating procedures and quality/quantity expectations. Work with utmost quality, safety, and food safety policies. Must use proper personal protective equipment effectively. Must keep work areas clean and follow proper food safety protocols. Must adhere to STX Beef specifications in product to ensure quality of meat. Inspect meat or meat products and/or packaging. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED preferred. Ability to comprehend simple instructions. Ability to work in cool temperatures (around 40 degrees) or hot temperatures (around 90 degrees). Ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours per day. Ability to multitask and work quickly. Must be a team player and able to work close to other employees in workstations. (Less than 3 feet apart.) Must have good communication skills. Good hand and eye coordination required. EOE/M/F/Vet/Disabled
