Job Description
2nd Shift Job Summary Installs, operates and removes a variety of dies and raw material coils to produce parts in a progressive stamping environment. Operates up to three machines in a manufacturing cell. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- (35%) Performs basic operations of a three machine cell, performs die sets, safety checks, quality checks.
- (15%) Operates hoist to set up raw material coil. Uses appropriate personal protective equipment to feed material through press.
- (15%) Monitors dies to identify possible stations not running. Monitors operation of equipment during production run and makes any necessary adjustments.
- (10%) Checks parts visually for defects. Uses gauges and calipers to measure parts as outlined on SPC sheet. Performs all SPC checks.
- (10%) Installs safety guards, adjusts air ejection pressure, arranges scrap hoppers and catch pans.
- (5%) Submits first piece to Quality for approval.
- (5%) Works with supervisor, engineer and or lead to troubleshoot tool/machine problems.
- (5%) Performs minor maintenance/tool repair on presses/dies.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE
- Other duties as required by supervisor. Education and Experience Profile
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous machine shop experience helpful.
- One year of related experience is highly desireable.
Required Skills Technical/Functional Competencies:
- Able to use hand tools such as wrenches, screw drivers, mallets, allen wrenches.
- Able to use micrometers, steel rule and gages to identify defective parts.
- Able to make decisions not covered by supervisory instruction.
