FUNCTION

: Perform duties in one or more focus areas , as described below, based on production schedule, need, skills and abilities.

DUTIES :

Required duties in all focus areas

• Check daily schedule for assignment from Team Leader.
• Read OIS before the start of each job.
• Maintain required quality control checks throughout shift
• Contact Material Handler for part requirements or when inventory runs low
• Contact Team Leader or supervisor regarding any problems
• Maintain clean area and help others maintain clean area
• Maintain safe work area; wear proper personal protective equipment Glasses, Steel toe Shoes, Gloves, Hearing Protection and Kevlar safety sleeves when preforming the following duties: Changing coils on any presses During press setups.
• Complete all necessary documentation correctly and timely, including: data cards and any other necessary documentation
• Adhere to all safety requirements including; HMIS, Lock out Tag out, Bloodborne pathogen, Personal Protective Equipment, Guarding and any other safety requirement
• Follow all applicable

processes.

• Train associates as required.
• Be present and on time daily.
• Generally, perform all other duties as required. Press Operator A Refer to "Required duties in all focus areas" above
• Complete Daily walk around inspection of entire press line.
• Proficiently completes all Operator B tasks.

Creation of complete job recipe for new tool, in any press, to include following tasks. o Establish required location of tool on bolster left to right as well as front to back. o Establish SETUP Shut Height using only measuring tools. o Establish RUN Shut Height using lead. o Use chart on press to set Counterbalance Pressure using upper die weight. o Determine die progression and program feed control. o Establish proper feed cabinet height and program feed control. o Program and load coil properly centered. o Properly set straightener workrolls to remove all coil set from coil. o Establish proper brake drag and straightener speed to optimize motor with continuous running while in automatic. o Establish proper Feed Initiate window and program press control. o Establish proper Roll Opening settings and program press control. o Setup strip lubrication systems and program press control. o Program and verify all sensors are functioning properly to ensure strip position, part out and end of stock. o Run press in automatic mode and optimize press parameters to maximize press speed for new recipe. o Save all press parameters on press control so recipe is stored by job number. o Initial all required areas on setup sheet to verify accuracy before releasing machine to production.

• Troubleshoot die / press problems
• Ensure press is set up and can run in automatic mode per process control form.
• Run test parts to ensure product quality
• Readjust automatic mode whenever necessary
• Coordinate run with Production Associate and Team Leader
• Ability to train new operators as required.

Education / Experience

/ Training High school education or equivalent (GED) 3 years' experience with presses and related equipment 3 years' experience with stamping dies 1 year experience with progressive dies for prog dies 1 year experience transfer dies for trans press Press Operator B

• Proficiently completes all Operator C tasks.
• Operate all stamping press in the facility according to pressroom procedures
• Perform reel changes and strip set-ups.
• Recall Job Recipes from Press Control.
• Complete a job setup per setup sheet work instruction setting all parameters for the press and feedline properly.
• Ensure conveyor chutes are in place
• Ensure proper guarding at all times
• Make tow motor operator aware of materials needed for projects
• Operate lift truck if certified as required per the Material Handler job description.

Catch parts and help on press as needed Operate stamping press according to pressroom procedures Supervise the selection key on press; ensure the selection is in the correct mode at all times of operation Interact with quality and tool maintenance to report tool and product problems Enter all downtime reason codes properly Check die protection, ensure all safety protection in place at all times Fill lubricant/coolant reservoir whenever necessary Handle scrap that is generated Inspect parts and ensure quality of parts per the OIS sheet visually and using variable and attribute gages Assist with set up and tear down press per procedures as required Package parts as per OIS sheet. Perform rework or sorting as required Responsible for housekeeping of press, die, immediate area and plant Perform stencil change Education / Experience / Training High school education or equivalent (GED) Factory / Manufacturing experience helpful
