Job Description

Job Title:
Press Operator (1st or 2nd Shift) Job Description The candidate will be responsible for operating compression mold machines to produce rubber or plastic rings and seals used in the oil and gas industry. This involves measuring powders and materials to ensure the proper consistency, setting up the machine, and operating the hydraulic press to mold rubber preforms into seals. Responsibilities Inspect first run parts for defects and make necessary adjustments prior to production. Turn, stack, and straighten preforms and parts while they are in the press. Load press platens uniformly with molds of equal height. Handle molds with care to prevent denting or galling of critical machined surfaces, and report any damage to molds or machines to the manager. Verify that preforms fit molds properly and report discrepancies to the Crew Lead. Ensure proper engagement of molds when press closes and pressure is applied, especially when molds are stacked. Essential Skills At least 2+ years of experience in press operating in a machine shop. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Experience in production/manufacturing and general labor. Proficiency in using hand tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in general production. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role operates in a shop environment during the 1st or 2nd shift (have spots open for both) either from 6AM-3PM or 4PM-12AM. Safety is a priority, requiring steel-toed shoes and safety glasses. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Humble, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.80 - $18.80/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
