Production Scheduler -
Metal Manufacturing Facility Location:
Humble, TX 77396 (On-site)
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00
PM Salary:
$60,000 per year
Type:
Full-time, Exempt Position Summary The Manufacturing Production Scheduler creates and optimizes production timelines to maximize the efficiency of our copper processing lines. You will balance machine capacity, raw material availability, and labor across dedicated copper fabrication stages like melting, casting, extrusion, or drawing. Your primary goal is to minimize setup times, reduce high-value copper scrap loss, and ensure on-time delivery to our customers. Schedule & Compensation Key Responsibilities Sequence production campaigns by copper alloy specification, gauge, or temper to minimize tool changes. Coordinate material flow across processing stages including melting, rolling, wire drawing, or extrusion. Track valuable metal inventory including copper cathodes, ingots, scrap, and specialized alloys. Optimize furnace utilization to minimize costly heat-up cycles and energy consumption. Re-route schedules dynamically to accommodate tool wear, machine breakdowns, or urgent orders. Collaborate with quality control to manage purity testing holds and rework schedules. Analyze yield data and schedule adherence to identify and eliminate production bottlenecks.
Qualifications and Skills Language:
Candidates must be fluent in
English and Spanish Experience:
3+ years of scheduling experience in Production planning in a manufacturing environment. Experience in copper processing, non-ferrous metals production, or steel production is a plus.
Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with metallurgy, tooling constraints, and thermal cycles is a plus
Software:
Proficiency in SAP or other manufacturing ERP/MRP systems
Math & Logic:
Strong analytical skills to calculate product yield, machine capacity, and scrap rates.
Communication:
Ability to collaborate effectively with floor supervisors, sales, and procurement.
Personnel Management:
Experienced in labor management and scheduling
Travel:
Possession of a valid passport (or ability to obtain one) and ability to travel internationally for 2- week initial training at company's home facility is preferred
Work Environment Setting:
Plant-based office with regular, active time spent on the production floor.
Physical Demand:
Must be comfortable wearing standard industrial PPE (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection).
