Job Description

OEM is seeking an Assistant Production Manager who is organized, dependable, and capable of helping lead day-to-day manufacturing operations. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on production experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate employees, workflow, materials, and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Production Manager with daily production planning and workflow coordination. Help supervise production employees and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to OEM quality standards. Assign work, communicate priorities, and monitor progress throughout the production process. Coordinate with purchasing, inventory, engineering, shipping, and other departments to prevent production delays. Monitor material availability and production schedules to help maintain on-time completion. Review work orders, drawings, bills of materials, and production documentation as needed. Assist with training new employees and reinforcing proper production procedures and workmanship standards. Identify production issues, bottlenecks, quality concerns, and process inefficiencies and help implement corrective actions. Support quality control efforts by ensuring completed work meets specifications and company standards. Maintain accurate production records and assist with tracking productivity, labor, and job status. Promote a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment. Assist with employee performance, attendance and day-to-day personnel matters. Step in to help resolve production problems and keep work moving when priorities or conditions change. Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, tooling, workflow, and overall production efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
2-3+ years of manufacturing, production, assembly, or related experience preferred. Previous lead, supervisory, or production management experience preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Experience reading blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and bills of materials. Strong understanding of manufacturing workflow, quality control, and production scheduling. Comfortable working directly with production employees and providing hands-on support when needed. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Basic computer skills and experience with production, inventory, ERP, or scheduling software preferred. Reliable attendance and ability to maintain a professional leadership presence. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
