Job Description

Job Title:
Production Control Specialist / Planner (Welding & Fabrication) Job Summary Responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the flow of materials, work orders, and resources within the welding and fabrication shop to ensure efficient, on-time production of high-quality products that meet customer specifications while adhering to safety standards. Experience programming CNC equipment for nesting beams and plate a must. Key Responsibilities •
Planning & Scheduling:
Follow production schedules, create work orders, nest materials for production. Insure inventory and purchasing requirements. •
Material & Inventory Control:
Manage raw material (beam, plate, bar) and finished goods inventory; coordinate with purchasing for timely material delivery. •
Workflow Management:
Monitor production progress, adjust schedules as needed, identify bottlenecks, and ensure smooth transitions between processes. •
Data & Reporting:
Utilize ERP systems for tracking, document production data, and generate reports on efficiency, output, and delays. •
Quality & Safety:
Enforce quality standards and safety protocols (PPE, hazard awareness); ensure compliance. Qualifications & Skills •
Experience:
Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing control, ideally in a metal fabrication/welding environment. Pronest and Tekla Power Fab software experience is preferred. •
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with nesting software, DXF and NC1 files, reading blueprints, and ERP/MRP software. •
Soft Skills:
Strong organizational skills, problem-solving, excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure. •
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications a plus. Physical Requirements • Ability to move around a busy shop floor, lift moderate weights (up to 50 lbs), and operate basic office equipment.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
