UTEX Industries is seeking an experienced Press Lead Operator to support daily operations within our Press Department. This role combines advanced press operation responsibilities with department leadership duties to help drive safety, quality, productivity, and team development. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone with strong manufacturing experience who enjoys mentoring employees, troubleshooting equipment, and helping lead production operations on the floor.
What You'll Do:
As a Press Lead Operator Your responsibilities will include: Safely operate injection, compression, and alternate press equipment Support daily production schedules and department workflow Train and cross-train employees within the Press Department Assist supervisors with day-to-day production oversight Troubleshoot equipment and support minor maintenance activities Monitor product quality and production standards Maintain accurate production and material records Support safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement efforts Help maintain department metrics and production goals Lead by example in safety, attendance, teamwork, and productivity
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent (experience may substitute). 6+ years of manufacturing experience preferred Previous lead, mentoring, or leadership experience preferred Experience operating press equipment in a manufacturing environment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Basic computer, math, and communication skills Forklift experience or ability to become certified preferred Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial environment requiring
PPE Work Environment:
You'll work in both manufacturing and office environments, using tools and equipment daily. PPE and steel-toed footwear are required.
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Why UTEX?
