As the Associate Finishing Specialist, this role is integral to ensuring the superior quality + aesthetic appeal of our custom wood products. The ideal candidate will have a passion for woodworking, a keen eye for detail + dedication to producing exceptional finishes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare wood surfaces for finishing by sanding, staining + sealing. Apply finishes such as paint, varnish, lacquer, or other coatings using various methods (spraying, brushing, wiping). Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards + client specifications. Perform touch-ups + repairs as needed to achieve a flawless finish. Collaborate with other team members to meet production schedules + project deadlines. Maintain a clean + organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Keep up-to-date with industry trends + finishing techniques to continuously improve skills.
REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience as an Associate Finishing Specialty or in a similar role within the woodworking or cabinetry industry is a plus. Strong knowledge of finishing materials, tools + techniques is preffered. Excellent attention to detail with an eye for color + texture. Ability to work both independently + as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills + a collaborative attitude. Commitment to quality a passion for delivering outstanding results.

Technical skills: Technical skills are the abilities that the Associate Finishing Specialist must have that allow them to complete tasks. They must have knowledge of tools, software, machinery + other resources that they will use to complete a job.
Communication skills:
Communication skills are essential for this role to effectively communicate with their team, collaborate with other departments + ensure smooth operations. Ability to articulate questions, provide updates + discuss project details with team members.
Attention to detail:
The Associate Finishing Specialist needs sharp attention to detail to ensure high-end custom products. This attention to detail enables them to maintain high standards of accuracy, quality + safety throughout the operations.
Problem-solving skills:
This position will use problem-solving skills to find solutions to challenges they encounter on the job. They need the ability to work collaboratively with others, resolving any issues that arise + contributing to a positive team environment.
Mechanical aptitude:
As the Associate Finishing Specialist, you will need proficiency in using various hand + power tools, troubleshooting + performing minor repairs + understanding basic mechanical concepts like tool calibration + equipment setup. You should also be able to read technical drawings + blueprints, adjust machinery settings for desired outcomes, know different wood types + their finishing requirements.
