Position Information Position Title Director of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Production (CAMP) Requisition Number S02483P Position Category Staff Campus Location Off Campus Hours per week 40 Months per year 12 Alternate work schedule Pay Grade E35 Salary FLSA Exempt Job Summary/Basic Function The CAMP Director provides strategic and operational leadership for Weber State University's CAMP program, an applied innovation and workforce initiative that connects technical needs identified by Hill Air Force Base and the Ogden Air Logistics Complex with university faculty, students, facilities, Utah educational institutions, 47G, and industry partners. The Director manages the overall project portfolio, translates partner needs into clearly defined projects, establishes schedules and accountability, monitors budgets and deliverables, coordinates partner communication, promotes and directs academic collaborations,and prepares required state, university and sponsor reports. The Director builds the procedures, governance, and operating systems needed to transition initial successful projects into the longer-term CAMP operating model. Faculty project leads retain responsibility for technical decisions, technical quality, and direct supervision of students assigned to their projects. CAMP and the Miller Advanced Research & Solutions Center ( MARS ) are separate programs; the Director coordinates use of MARS space or services only when an approved CAMP project requires them.
Required Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, technology, business, public administration, project management, higher education administration, economic development, or a related field. Three years of progressively responsible experience managing complex programs, projects, partnerships, applied research, workforce initiatives, or related operations. Experience coordinating work across multiple organizations or functional areas when contributors do not all report to the same supervisor. Experience managing budgets, schedules, deliverables, performance measures, and written reports. Experience working with senior leaders, technical professionals, external partners, or government stakeholders.
